My last exam is nearing it's end, and as I've told some of you, and discreetly hinted to others, the people upstairs have started listening to techno music 24/7. Just loudly enough that you hear the bass, not loudly enough that you can hear what it is. So now my apartment resonates with their music all day, every day. In addition, lately, they've started yelling over the music instead of turning it down to talk, so I can make out 3 separate voices, but not what they're saying. I also suspect they have mastered the art of sleep deprivation to a hitherto unknown degree since they were having a heated argument (possibly, or you know, maybe they're just really loud) yesterday, at 1 a.m., when I was trying to sleep, and still was up playing more music today before I got up at 9. This is driving me insane! But, I've so far had about 5 parties where I forgot to give notice to my neighbours, and thus, complaining about these guys might open me up for attack. I'll leave it up to you to decide what to do!

I'd break a finger for a friend, but as, I think, most sensible people, I'd of course make sure they meant it seriously first. Or just waited until they called me a freak and done it anyway.

I think I'd try to get it it writing, signed and witnessed by a third party first. Though I still don't think it would hold up in court...
Anyhow, I just get the urge to break other people, not have myself hurt. If I wanted that I'd just go logging while drunk again.

Of course you would. Me, on the other hand, have nothing they could sue me for, and would probably thrive in prison, what with steady meals and ample opportunity to exercise... perhaps I'd even finally get down to writing that book.

And when I got out, I'd break some more fingers.

No, but prison is the price to pay for doing something fun. My point was that it's not that high a price. Military service is the price you pay for not being old enough, clever enough, principled enough, or gimped enough to get out of it.

Yeah, you should definitely be careful around people like me these days. I'm angry enough that I'd ask once if you were serious and then grant your wish, just to make myself feel better. ;)
