I had a late night discussion yesterday about how one likes to act during sex, and whether or not gender had anything to do with it. The person I had the conversation with (who will remain nameless unless s/he wants to involve him/herself in this discussion and come clean) believed that nature intended women to be dominated by men in bed. Now, s/he was quick to add that this did not mean that s/he was against equal rights, or that s/he meant that women were worth less than men, just that women, during sex, wanted to be "had" rather than to "take" another person.
Now, as I'm sure you're not going to be surprised to find out, I was very provoked by these statements and argued heavily for the fact that this is not so. I personally believe that there are no naturally set gender roles during sex or any other type of encounter, and thus I do not believe that women are naturally inclined to wish to be "had" by men during sex.
But of course I have no numbers to base this on. So I though why not make an lj-poll and see what happens? I want you all to vote and then we can see what the results say. Who's right and who's wrong.
Do not question the representational value of a poll made for my flist and whoever else happens to read my blog. It's as good a tool as any. Besides, I'm curious.Vote! Discuss! Change the world! Entertain me! You know you want to...
