*waves at flist*

I don't think I've ever been this excited about Christmas. It is weird, but very time I walk past a tacky fake Christmas tree or light ornaments my tummy gets this warm, comfy feeling inside and I start dreaming about Christmas. The cakes, the food, the gløgg, the snow, the Christmas trees, the presents. I've decided to force my office to partake in this inflated holiday cheer by buying red candles and gløgg and Christmas cookies to serve to the patients.

So how about you guys? Are you looking forward to Christmas? What holiday traditions do you love/hate? What are you most excited about?

Lucky. I am not excited about christmas at all. I want the food and the stuff, but I could just as well have it now. I don't feel the wee-ness of christmas. Meh, but I got new icons, though.

I love your icon!!!

I know how you feel. I was like that last year. I remember thinking that it must mean I was growing up. Guess I was wrong...

Oh, I can't wait for the endless hours of trying to get around stores packed with the unwashed masses of humanity, looking desperately for gifts that I cannot afford for people who don't particiularily deserve them. Nothing quite like christmas shopping.
Thank heavens for the good christmas beers...

mmm...Christmas beers. I'm even looking forward to the shopping. I know exactly what I'm getting you! :D

(see, I'm disgustingly cheerful)

Grrrr....
Disgustingly so...
Me, I'm more in the growling, twitching, wanting-to-rend-flesh corner.
But mmmm beer.

We need to have a christmas beer tasting party. Just have some half a dozen of each kind, to find out whick kinds the best.

Christmas is definitely my all-time favorite holiday, much to the magical and nostalgic feeling I get. I'm very much looking forward to it, spending it with my family and eating yummy food. I'm also very excited about all the wonderfully colorful decorations around the city and Christmas carols/songs being played on the radio! That said, I don't particularly like the fact that the city starts becoming Christmasy long before December and that the shops start selling Christmas items at the end of October - that's a real spirit killer for me.

Although I love receiving presents and giving them away, I'm not a fan of how some people seem to think it's the most important part of this holiday. Often it's better to just go out for a cozy dinner with friends rather than waste hours trying to find the perfect gift they essentially don't need.

I'll agree on the dinner and on the earliness of Christmas in stores, but I still smile every time I see a fake christmas tree in the stores. :)

Nope, not really looking forward to christmas. Too much stress (work-stress, family-stress, money-stress, relationship-stress, gift-stress, etc-stress) at the end of the year. The only holiday tradition (other than exchanging gifts) I participate in is mailing cards because it makes me feel all connected and such to my friends, yanno?

I don't get that. If this holiday makes you stressed out, can't you reduce the amount of stuff you do for christmas? How about buying the gifts in november?

It's mostly work, really. I could reduce the amount of work I have, but that would leave me unemployed and homeless. Which would be different kinds of stress.

Aw...*hugs you*

I'm going back to school next year so I'll end up with a nice job. ever considered going back to college?

From: [identity profile] sandchigger.livejournal.com

No, I'd need money for that. Which would mean having a job at least as bad as this one. *shrugs*
