Nationalism

So, I was sitting on the bus on my way to work the other day when I suddenly noticed that the woman sitting across from me had tattooed the Danish flag on her left foot. Now, call me old fashioned, but I can´t help but feel that this is wrong on so many levels. First of all, I think it´s slightly disturbing that someone would feel the need to tattoo their country´s flag onto their bodies. It seems overly nationalistic, racist and a little scary. Second of all, if I was going to tattoo my country´s flag onto my body to show my appreciation, it think I would choose a different body part. The foot just doesn´t denote honor and glory to me. Thirdly, the Danish flag is just plain ugly. Why anyone would want to decorate their body with it is a mystery to me.
