So, yesterday at the office I learned a few valuable things. First, even though it'll be nice to go back to school, I won't have to be scared to start a normal working life after, because there's nice people at every workplace I've been to so far (that is, four these past months). People are in general nice. I also drank coffee with a bunch of people and made my office homely. All in all, it was a nice day.
After work, I checked out the office gym. It was okay (pictures and sarcasm coming later), except for the fact that it was filled with 30-something fit men working out. And, to be honest, I do have this tiny, tiny competitive streak saying that I have to be as good or better than anybody, in any area, ever. Unfortunately, I'm not very fit, or very strong, so competing with young 30-something fit men running on treadmills is quite hard. I think it is a need to be barsk/strong/tough developed as a child with two older brothers. What made me feel better though, was that this same day, I found out that that same need was imbedded in two of my coworkers (Elisabeth and Vigdis), who both attempted not only to eat smalahovud (boiled sheep head), but to eat sheep eyes to prove their toughness. Vigdis barfed, but Elisabeth holds the title of former eye-eater to this day. (And the fact that I think this is impressive and cool only goes to show how sick I really am)
The brilliant day that was yesterday, ended on a sad note, however, when I got home and, attempting to transfere my pictures on to the computer to give you a glimpse of my office life, found my computer broken. That's right, it seemed fine, but refused to start. I tried everything, but it kept on being totally dead. The only logical reaction was of course to get drunk on beer and whisky with
aj_stalin and
45hasle and watch loads of Black books and Shaun of the Dead. THis lead to about 3 hours sleep last night (again) and my continued zombification at work.
On a happier note, when I called customer support today, it turns out there's a bug in the system of all computers of that model, and that it's easily fixed, in addition, they're giving me a free new screen because mine got partially broken. So hurray for that.
Now, the lesson one needs to learn from this experience is of course that having too much fun at work leads to heartbreak and trouble at home (because the happiness-factor in your life is constant). Therefore I chose to spill about 3dl of freshly brewed coffee on my arm today. God, that hurts. Still, half an hour later. I hope I don't scar. Stupid 3hrs sleep that leads to sloppy pouring and slow reaction time. Sweater, skirt and most of all arm destroyed by coffee. I did, however, save my cell phone. Thank god for small favours.
Will try again with the picture post (because anything's more fun with pictures) later! Be shiny all!
