Actually, and I think this is really important, I don't draw the line. I think it's quite obvious that both things are important. I do not know which is more important, or what is most important to this and that characteristic. Since everyone I have spoken to that have claimed to _know_ what decides what have been unable to back it up with solid evidence, any line drawn sound like a silly and arbitrary one to me.
Some things we just don't know. Some times this should compel us to do more research, other times not knowing might be quite OK. What we should never, ever do is just make up some arbitrary answer and stick to it, either because we can't handle not having an answer or because the arbitrary answer strengthens our other arguments.
